Los Alamos Historical Museum

North Central region of New MexicoThe Los Alamos Historical Society keeps alive the unique cultural, scientific, and historical legacy of Los Alamos and related regions. The story of Los Alamos cannot be told without Espanola and other communities in northern New Mexico. They are all part of our rich heritage.

The Society maintains the Los Alamos Historic Museum and Bookshop as well as the Los Alamos Historical Archives. We also publish a variety of books on the history of Los Alamos and the surrounding region, sponsor monthly historical lectures, and provide a variety of activities to promote the history of Los Alamos. The Historical Society owns and maintains historically significant properties, such as the J. Robert Oppenheimer house, in Los Alamos for the purposes of preservation and education.
