The mission of the U.S. Southwest Soaring Museum is to build a world-class museum that preserves and presents the history and legacy of soaring, promotes an increased understanding of mathematics and the physical sciences through educational exhibits and programs, sponsors aeronautical research programs relating to solar-powered flight, communicates an inspirational story of innovation and discovery for the New Mexico schoolchildren, the citizens of NM and visitors passing through the state, and motivates others to experience the wonder of flight
