Logan
Railroad, ranching, farming, and recreation, all come together at Logan, NM. Noted as the "Gateway to Ute Lake State Park", the community of Logan has become one of the most visited water playgrounds in New Mexico. Founded in 1901 as a tent town for Rock Island Railroad workers, the community now boasts of catering to the thousands of water enthusiasts that migrate each year to the second largest lake in New Mexico. Conversation in the local establishments always eventually turns to the best fishing spots for catching that record breaking bass.
Logan is a thriving community steeped in the tradition of rural America. School activities and community special events become top priority in the lives of local residents. Logan proudly demonstrates its civic pride with one of the largest Independence Day Celebrations in the area. The celebration happens each July and continues the traditions of parades, picnic lunches, and a special Fireworks Extravaganza over the warm waters of Ute Lake.
