Rio Grande
Spanish for "Big River", the Rio Grande starts in southern Colorado and flows almost due south across the entire extent of New Mexico, past Albuquerque and Las Cruces. After passing out of New Mexico, it forms the boundary between Mexico and Texas. The Rio Grande is home to some of the Southwest's best whitewater runs, abundant wildlife populations, quality fly-fishing and truly spectacular scenery.
